update-updmap - shell script to generate
This manual page documents briefly the update-updmap command. This
manual page was written for the Debian GNU/Linux distribution because
the original script was designed for Debian packaging system.
update-updmap is a shell script to generate
/var/lib/texmf/web2c/updmap.cfg from files in /etc/texmf/updmap.d/*.cfg
The tetex-bin provides 00updmap.cfg in /var/lib/texmf/web2c/updmap.d/
and TeX related font packages 'foo' should provide its font map file,
e.x. foo.map, in /etc/texmf/dvips/ and 10foo.cfg in
/etc/texmf/updmap.d/ with contents "Map foo.map" and run 'update-
updmap' in postinst.
Note a filename should have an extension ".cfg" and it should contain
"MixedMap foo.map" if "foo" is available as bitmap and as outline.
Then an appropriate updmap.cfg will be generated in
/var/lib/texmf/web2c/ and running "updmap" will generate an appropriate
Note 10foo.cfg should be a configuration file and be renamed at
"remove" to something like 10foo.bak and be removed at "purge" in
-v Show verbose messages.
