 NAME
      mpcarp - display MPOA Client ingress, egress cache and MPOA server
      tables

 SYNOPSIS
      /usr/sbin/mpcarp -n net_interface [ -i IP_address ]

 DESCRIPTION
      The mpcarp command displays the current MPOA ingress and egress cache
      tables used by the MPOA Client (MPC) tied to the ATM LAN Emulation
      Clients (LECs) for the specified ATM network interface.

      There are three tables to be displayed:

      +	  Ingress Cache

      +	  Egress Cache

      +	  MPOA Routers (MPOA Servers)

 Ingress Cache
      The ingress cache table contains the information necessary to resolve
      the IP destination address to the ATM address of a VC. It is used to
      detect flows that can use a shortcut. This table contains the fields
      listed below:

 NOTE
      All the ingress cache information listed below will be shown if both
      -n and -i are specified. Only the first three fields are displayed if
      -n is specified.

		  Name		       Description
		  ==========================================================
		  MPS MAC Address      The MAC address of the MPOA Server (MPS)

		  IPV4 Address	       The internetwork layer of the final
				       destination to which the internetwork
				       datagrams will be sent.

		  Egress MPC Address   The ATM address of the egress MPC that
				       will receive the internetwork layer
				       datagrams via the shortcut (if any).

		  Entry State	       The present state of this MPC ingress
				       cache.

		  Egress Cache Tag     The value used to determine the
				       different protocol address families.

		  Service Category     The service categories associated with
				       this shortcut.

		  Cache Holding Time   The number of seconds for which this
				       entry should be considered to be valid.

		  Retries	       The number of times this MPC has
				       issued a resolution request since
				       it received a valid reply during the
				       cache Holding Time interval.

		  Time Until Next Resolution Request
				       The remaining amount of time (in
				       seconds) that the MPC must wait
				       before retrying another resolution
				       request.

		  Prefix Length	       An equivalence class of addresses
				       that match Prefix Length bit positions
				       of the destination Internetwork layer
				       address. Both IPV4 address and
				       Prefix Length fields are required
				       for an ingress MPC to build an
				       ingress cache entry and identify
				       the inbound datagrams that will be
				       sent on the shortcut to be
				       established.

		  Last NHRP CIE Code   The last NHRP CIE code received in an
				       MPOA Resolution Reply for this entry.

		  Signaling Error Code Error code or success of the last
				       signaling request for this entry.

 Egress Cache
      The egress cache table is used to determine how layer 3 datagrams
      coming from a shortcut are to be encapsulated and forwarded. This
      table contains the fields listed below:

 NOTE
      All the egress cache information is shown if both -n and -i are
      specified. Only the first three fields are displayed if -n is
      specified.

		  Field Name	       Description
		  ===========================================================
		  MPS MAC Address      The MAC address of the MPOA Server.

		  IPV4 Address	       The IPV4 Address of the final
				       destination to which the internetwork
				       datagrams will be sent.

		  Ingress MPC Address  The ATM address of the ingress MPC
				       from which internetwork layer

				       datagrams will be sent.

		  Entry State	       The present state of this MPC egress
				       cache.

		  Cache ID	       Cache ID provided by the MPS in the
				       Cache Imposition Request.

		  Egress Cache Tag     The value used to determine the
				       different protocol address families.

		  Service Category     The service categories supported for
				       this shortcut.

		  Holding Time	       The number of seconds for which this
				       entry should be considered to be valid.

		  Prefix Length	       An equivalence class of addresses that
				       match Prefix Length bit positions of
				       the destination Internetwork layer
				       address. Both IPV4 address and
				       Prefix Length fields are required
				       for an egress MPC to build an
				       egress cache entry.

		  DataLink Header      The DataLink header that the egress
				       MPC will use to rebuild the original
				       DataLink packet before sending it to
				       the higher layers.

 MPOA Routers
      The MPOA routers table is used to troubleshoot the topology of
      routers.	This table contains two fields:

		  Field Name	       Description
		  ===========================================================
		  Router MAC Address   The MAC address of the router (MPS).

		  Router MPS Address   The ATM address of the router (MPS).


    Options
      mpcarp recognizes the following options:

      -n net_interface
	   The LEC interface. There is no default.  The netstat -i command
	   can be used to display the name of each interface that is
	   associated with an ATM adapter (see netstat(1M)).

      -i IP_address
	   The IP address for the egress and ingress cache entries to

	   display full information about. This option is especially useful
	   when checking if the remote end has the shortcut in its cache
	   table.

 EXAMPLE
      To display MPOA cache information for the MPC that is tied to a LEC
      interface "ela0":

	   /usr/sbin/mpcarp -n ela0

      The MPC (card inst:0/selector:01) that is tied to LEC interface "ela0"
      serves the following LEC interfaces:
		- ela0
		- ela1
		- ela4

      To display detailed cache information of a remote MPC (with IP address
      "192.234.118.67") that has the shortcut to the local MPC tied to LEC
      interface "ela0":

	   mpcarp -n ela0 -i 192.234.118.67

 DIAGNOSTICS
      mpcarp fails in the following cases:

      mpcarp: Incorrect usage

	   Command line input contained one or more syntax errors.  See the
	   SYNOPSIS section for the correct usage.

      mpcarp: net_interface:  Invalid argument

	   Unable to provide info corresponding to net_interface because
	   this net_interface does not exist.
