cclogd - Chassis Log logging daemon
The Support Tools Manager (STM) uses logging daemon cclogd to save
chassis logs in the chassis code log files.
Chassis logs are log records which are generated by various system
hardware, software and firmware. They can contain error indicators as
well as informational messages.
cclogd is launched automatically by the STM daemon diagmond (1M). The
STM User Interface, xstm , mstm , or cstm , Daemon commands can also
be used to launch the daemon as well as shut it down and view the
daemon's activity log.
The log files created by cclogd can be viewed using the STM utility
Chassis logs are not supported on all types of system hardware. The
cclogd daemon will shut down automatically if the system which it is
run on does not support chassis logs.
This daemon is supported on the following systems: Superdome S16000
S32000 S64000 s-class and rp8400 rp7410
Care should be taken when shutting down cclogd as this can potentially
cause loss of error information logged by the daemon.
If the cclogd logging daemon is not up and running, a System Alert
could be displayed on the console with a Problem Detail of "reflecting
queue overflowed". This daemon reads the chassis logs from the support
processor emptying the reflecting queue.
